Plainville Chiropractic Plan for Pain Relief and Prevention with Exercise

April 20, 2021

“Do I have to exercise?”

“Only exercise if you want to feel better faster and prevent pain,“ your Plainville chiropractic encourages.

“How much time do I have to spend exercising every day?”

“Not long, just effectively,” Layden Chiropractic advises.

Exercise is not every Plainville back pain or neck pain patient’s ’thing’. Layden Chiropractic knows. Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Plainville chiropractic patients every step of the way to get the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain prevention and relief.

OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Neck pain sufferers understand how pain may reduce their neck motion. Such neck pain patients were assessed as to their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test. They were then instructed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine exercise session. Half of them were then additionally treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine levels. Those who performed the exercise program and received manual therapy managed significantly better as far as range of motion, pain intensity reduction, and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another research project revealed that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as opposed to 15 or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the most benefit to pain intensity reduction while diminishing any negative effects on neural function of the involved nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Layden Chiropractic always stresses that the proper exercise done in the right way doesn’t have to take long to be useful! Additionally, exercise lays some control in the hands of its sufferer since exercise can be performed anytime.

OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Integrating exercise training into the multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain makes sense. This type of back pain involves so many people globally and is a leading cause of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back pain sufferer to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health issues in such back pain patients - were enhanced with options like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga, and stabilization exercise. (3) Layden Chiropractic agrees! Exercise is valuable in so many ways.
